The path of Aghora is the one where you develop an "Aghora Chakshu" - a way to perceive the world without fear, division and to walk the path of Dharma with clarity and compassion. It is a sacred and ancient tradition rooted in Vedas and Tantra.

Does Aghora involve Skulls, Cremation grounds and Black magic?

These are unfortunate distortions and misunderstandings of the Sacred philosophy over time. The damage is also due to many books written by unqualified authors who merged several other complex traditions into Aghora and portrayed it to the world with an intent to offer shock and disgust towards our own traditions.

The books thrived on the exotic, dangerous, and the forbidden, reinforcing the Western gaze that sees Aghora as nothing more than a cult of transgression. And here’s the real tragedy: even in Bhārata, many of us got swept away by this sensationalism.

The trilogy barely touches the scriptural foundations of Aghora. There is no structured discussion of its history, no effort to present it as a legitimate spiritual path. Instead, it reads like a personal memoir, entertaining, yes, but misleading. Worse, it subtly implants a dangerous idea: Aghora is not for you. It is not a path.

Today, we often see that Aghora is associated with cremation grounds and skulls - why?

One of the biggest tragedies is the commercialization of Aghora. Today, many so-called Aghorīs put on staged rituals, exploiting tourists, seekers, and devotees for money. They sell “mystical experiences”, turning a deeply personal and rigorous path into a street show.

Is Aghora left or right hand path?

Aghora is neither the right or left hand of indulgence. Such dangerous interpretation is due to the rise of unverified occultism. Many self-proclaimed Aghorīs mix left-Tantra (Vāmācāra) with their own superstitions, creating a reckless fusion of distorted rituals and misguided beliefs. True left- Tantra is about transcending dualities, not reckless hedonism. Without the necessary spiritual maturity, these distortions lead to harm, not enlightenment.

Does Aghora offer power / Siddhi?

True Sādhanā is the offering of oneself into the mystic fire, to be forged by inner transformation. The greatest tragedy is the decline of true Sādhanā. Aghora is perceived as some shortcut to power through lawlessness and indulgence. One does not walk the path of Sādhanā for experiences, visions, or gains, or to become something. It is a return journey back to the source.

Yes, there are no barriers or limitations of gender in this path.
